Default windows vista network help

hi
my girlfriend wants to setup a wireless network on her laptop. the laptop is picking up her pc but it isnt letting her connect to the internet. next to the the monitor icon in the network program the is a yellow triangle with exclamation mark could this be the problem and if so can anyone help me out??

also just above that connection there is a defualt connectoin with yellow triangle exclamation mark and that lets her get on the internet but with limited speed so can anyone plz help??

Why doesn't she just connect straight to the router rather than her PC?
