Hi there,
I am planning to buy a Eurovox max 2008 box and have a few questions. I have been reading through the stickys today and think I'm on the right track - just thought I'd double check before purchasing everything OK, so this is where the cable comes into the house. I have the broadband only package. My tv is 12m away from this box, shown below: hxxp://img269.imageshack.us/img269/6319/03092009104.jpg
Is that everything I need to do above(assuming box is already flashed)? Will I need a f-plug adapter for the Eurovox Max 2008? Where is the cheapest/best place to buy 15m/20m cable? Any help would be greatly appreciated ![]() Thank you Last edited by adg1111; 03-09-09 at 11:50 PM. |

The image you made will work fine, that is exactly how I would set it up. You could get an F connector or you can buy cables that have an F connector on one end and a normal screw-type connection on the other. You will probably need to scan for channels but apart from that, you should be good to go mate

Sorry that just links straight to the maplins homepage. Get some wf100 cable and maplins can probably fit a wf100 cable, a splitter and an f connector for you.(for a price) I wouldnt get a Eurovox Max V when the used prices for them are very high!

Id be thinking thats normal RJ6 cable, seeing as though on a satellite dish you dont need a better cable! I would go for the wf100 option, though you may need a crimper. Also Id say a white cable may look nicer seeing as though the rest of your wire is white

That Maplin cable is not normal RG6 cable, it has virtually similar electrical spec as WF100, so I suggest it will be more than good enough for your Cable TV box.. WF100 is just a product brand from a paticular manufacturer, other companies do make same spec cable, they just don't call it WF100.. That Maplin cable has a foam dielectric and copper braid & shield, so is even good enough for an outdoor run.. Simple to fit screw on F connectors are perfectly fine (even if some people think crimping on permanent connectors is the best and only way)
