hi guys im trying to reinstall vista on a friends laptop he dont have any discs but he was told when he bought it that it has the files for reinstalling windows on the hard drive but i cant find them anywhere

try system restore mate or just get a new vista or windows 7 online for free not that hard

Try hitting the F11 or F12 key on boot up, Windows is usually hidden on a secret partition accessable by pressing a key on boot up.
You will lose all your information, and installed programs, if you do a factory default install.
What make/model laptop is it?

cheers its a ligiQ brand which i have never heard of but i tried hitting F11 and F12 but nothing happened

Different manufacturers use different shortcut keys, I haven't heard of ligiQ, have you got a manual, or do you know their web site address?

Try and download a copy of Vista (many places on the Net to get that) then use the activation key on the back of the laptop to activate it m8.

If you formatted the hard drive then you will have wiped everything so better look for a copy of Vista and try from there. You will also need to install all the drivers for that are particular laptop, so if you can find the right recovery disks for that machine so much the better, as they will have all the drivers for it.

hi no i havent formatted it at all .its got the drivers disc with it thats all no recovery cd which i thought was weird iv got a copy or vista ultimate but the one thats on the laptop is only vista home premium so i guess iv got to go and find a copy of that now
