ex7000hd surround sound

i have the above box and also a surround sound system but i cant get the surround sound working thru the box. which lead or leads do i need for this...does anyone know and also which sockets do i use.

I use the red & white phono outputs to my amp using a phono lead.

dont they use the optical out? fibre optic cable to amp!!

if your amp doesnt support this then good old phonos...

altho optical will be better quality.

Not sure what an optical output would look like mate. There's a 'SPDIF' output with a plastic plug in it though.

So it would appear that the box can indeed be hooked up to a surround sound system using an optical output.
I assume you would have to set the box's 'SPDIF' mode to 'on' in the 'TV Setup' page.

Thats correct yes, and I think you can also set the audio for the optical to be in dolby too, from the same place. Instead of PCM mix, it wants to be the other setting (I forget which).

what does this spdif cable look like mate and does it matter which connectors are on each end of it.

All connectors are the same for amp / boxes
