Default V+ lost channels help needed

Hi All, I am a newbie to this so I appologise in advance if I don't use the correct terminology.

I have a N*L V+ plus a MOSC got Oct 08 and now have lost channels except normal ones, I get a message saying "you are not subscribed" or words to that effect.

Spoke to a guy who wanted £15 to fix and send money to one address and the card to another (have my doubts about this) but then I have read a few posts and I believe I have to update the MOSC and this can be done for around £20 but there is no advice for newbies.

Also another post said read the cable guide from the download section (total newbie and cannot find).

I would like to either have a go myself or take card to someone in the Carling cup 2004 area ( local football fans will know where I am).

Any help would be greatfully appreciated and thanks in advance.

By the looks of it your rights dates have expired and would need changing , You can buy a phoenix programmer to do this for less than a tenner mate , Google " Tailor made circuits " you can get all you need here

Get any card reader/writer that supports Phoenix mode (I used to use an Infinity USB but there are other, cheaper ones). Put the programmer in Phoenix mode, put the card in and try to read the card using NagraEdit. If you can read it, amend the dates to ones in the future. If you cannot read it, then it will need unlooping (unlocking) and you'll need to buy an unlocker for that. You won't save money first time you do a card yourself, but you certainly will by the second.

This is info I've picked up just from reading through the forums. I've only ever played with Funcards and PCs and they're very different beasties to MOSCs. All the info you need is on the forum and has been requested several times - have a look and a read and you'll find it all.

Good luck.

P.S. Looks like g80878's got faster typing fingers than me! Sorry for duplication.

I now have a programmer (no instructions) from ebay and I have looked around the downloads section for a tut but all seems to be doing things from scratch. My box has already been modded and card paired(not sure if card is unlocked yet) so just need some help on how to change dates. All downloads are confusing for a newbie like me so would just like some clear and easy steps on how to fix please.

Not even sure if I have posted this in the right place....but I will learn!
