Hi,

Just a quickie here to warn yer all that if yer replacing bad components in a kv psu or a euro or wotever then don't assume that cos yer ordered some caps yer might not have in stock (like I have done last week) and then yer go an order some and then when they arrive yer just whack the ones at fault and all will be ok when yer replace them.

I have a kv psu that was totaly shagged, so last week I tested it and found that there was a shagged cap (50v 47uF) at location cap7, I didn't have any in or an equiv so I sent off for some, when I got em I whacked this in and still no juice, so I then tested all other components and all deffo ok, so scratchin me head here on this one, spent hours on it and in the end I thought **** this and put the bleeder in me atic.
I then got a eurofox 2 days back and also a deffo bad cap (50v 47uF) same as the kv fault, I whacked a new one in and same as kv, no juice, I knew for sure this cap was dead.
I then thought **** this I'll test these I ordered, and after a close inspection they were 50v 4.7uf and not 50v 47uF, so no wonder they wouldn't bleeding well fire the boxes up, I then got an old sammy box from me atic and it had these cap values in so I popped 2 out and soldered 1 in the eurofox psu and it fired up, then I put other 1 in the kv and same has, fired up.
Also when I did a futher test on these I ordered, they are demics and don't give any readings at all.
So if yer repairin stuff then don't assume the component yer whacking in is good, always test them before you replace to make sure they are good.
wasted hours of me time due to putting shagged caps in.
Right I'm going on ebay now to lacate the person who sold me this demics and I'm gonna really blast them with an email on this.
