if you have just done a reset and scan and you were previously getting channels then your signal should not have changed unless you have done other things as well or there are problems in your area.
to change the symborate when on the scan screen select symbolrate and press the left or right arrow |

I am guessing our area is still not up to scratch, the only other thing i could try is checking the frequencies..i have 28 channels ranging from 418.750 mhz- 746.750mhz,symbolrate-6.952 and modulator-qam64,do you know of any sites i could check the frequencies at all ta in advance

your going off in a tangent, first you had no channels now you have I think we need to start again as I think the long story you cut short might have clues to what your problem is.
where are you located and need a better description of what you have done and what you have now |

Sorry pal...here is is my plea..I panicked last night when channels went off(incl the non $ ones) so the last time it did this i followed instruction to delete all channels and do a powerscan and that worked fine.but this time after powerscan no channels came back and signal was crap.. i have a eurovox max so on the main menu i go to installation onto user installation then i have chart that appears with four headings ie channel number-frequency-symbol rate -modulator
001 418.750mhz 6.952mbaud QAM64 so on and so forth to channel number 28. then underneath i have a quality % which is less than 30 should be 90s, which leads me to think the frequencies are wrong....i hope you understand this smoggy...

Or as mrj050 pointed out, it could be a VM fault, best to check your region status here: Virgin Media > help > service status > overview : status home Select your region and it will display any outstanding faults/maintenance that was planned.
