Just a quick question...does my modem firstly have to be registered with Vermin in order for it to work? I have an ambit 250 which des not work on my live feed (presumably because the MAC adress is not registered with Vermin).

Is there any way to get my Ambit 250 to work on my live feed without having to contact Vermin as the MAC address is not registered with them?

if your talking about getting it to work legit then yes you would need to call virgin and register it.

but if you are doing cable modem hack then you can flash it and use a mac from diffrent ubr and it would work.

read around forum for more info on that.

I'm not paying vermin anything at the moment and have no intention to. There is a live feed coming in here but I can't get the modem to work as it isn't registered with vermin presumably.

Is there any way to get it to work as I don't want to contact vermin at all.

you need to mod you modem with third party firmware that would allow you to enter a mac of your choice , You need a working mac from within your region but not on the same UBR as you. Would be advisable to at least subscribe to the lowest package to keep your line active and vermin alive. If everyone didn't pay anything there would be no money for network upgrades and awaited HD content.

Where can I find this third party software; where can I get a working MAC from within my region and how would I know if it's on the same UBR as me?

Please help me out by being more specific. Thanks

You just need to do lots of reading and searches all the specifics are on the forum.
