Hi John_bird_O,

after many hours of siting in front of the tv, watching a slow ass scan bar move across the screen, i decided to give up with no joy, but i did notice the signal level was only at 28%, i will re try at home and see what happen ( i tried box a girlfreinds to make sure it wasn't my connection)

thanks for the advice, will try tomorrow between work and pub

Hi,
I don't want to come across as though I'm taking the Michael but are you sure that you put the cable into the correct socket on the box?
The reason I say this is that a while ago I disconnected everything so I could decorate and then when I reconnected I got no channels. I did a couple of deep scans and it turns out I'd put the cable into the wrong connector on the back of the box.
Mind you, I had had a very hard day... well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Cheers
DJ67

lol DJ67,

thanks for tip..... but i did have the right hole in the wall :-)

i did try the FM output of the box ( just to see if i could you that rather than using a splitter) but no luck....

after stripping my setup ALL the way back to wall box and removing all splitters, i managed to get it to find 300+ channels, the box auto sorts the channels into catagorys.
i was able to but the box back on the end of the splitters after it had located the channels. picture quality is good for the cost of the box.

i seem to be able to watch all channels, even with out having to enable the decrypter (language setting, red button, 2520).

Thank you to everyone who helped

got mine on thursday.
Am over the moon, does a great job.
easy to set up
easy to use

this is literally what i did.
- read some posts on various forums
- flashed the box with latest firmware (do a search with google for "eurovox ex1100 firmware" and read through ALL the posts, the links are out there)
- do a deep scan - change one perameter the symbol rate - do a google search for "GUIDE: Eurovox Scanning Settings" this post has all the channel information you need near the bottom.
- leave for 20 mins.

voila its working

took me about an hour of playing from unboxing to have channels to watch.

Next is tidying up the channel list - this is painfully manual process so save your channel lists occasionally to the usb stick.

(tip - lincsat has loads of excellent advice - read his posts on the product and is a good source for purchase as knows the product well)

I've had terrible problems with signal breakup on my Eurovox Max Red for the last 4 months or so (it only seems to be really bad during the daytime).

My V*rgin box doesn't break up or lose signal and nothing I've tried (signal boosting / checking and changing the wiring / taking off the splitter etc.) seems to sort it, so I assume that the V*rgin box has better error correction and can overcome any noise on the line - wherever it comes from.

Does anybody know if a newer machine (ie this one we're discussing) is liable to be any more tolerant in this respect. If so it might be time I went for an upgrade.
