Default Anyone tried this new box?

Yesterday I got this email below in bold type, announcing a new box on the market, has anyone tried one out yet ? .......

Just a quick email to let you know about the brand new Eurovox EX1100 USB is now available! Its an upgrade from the popular EX1000SL slimline box, and now features a USB port so that you can plug in a memory stick or external hard drive and record, pause live TV, rewind etc etc (similar to Sky+)

The cost of this box is £89.99 (plus £10 p&p), if you would like one, please send money via paypal to this email address, or cash on collection from Wigan WN2 is also fine. If paying with Paypal, please send as a 'gift' when sending the money across, otherwise i have to pay a fee to paypal!

Any Qs, drop me a mail

Kind regards

Euromax .TV

Euromax.tv has expired and now links to a search site and sending cash over Paypal as a gift removes most of the protection, so beware.

Here's the original review - Eurovox EX1100USB

i purchased the EX1100 USB on monday,

i'm new to the scene, flashed firmware via usb,

i have read quite a few of the posts here on the forum, most seem very helpfull... thank you :-)

i live in stevenage, hertfordshire, but i'm not having any luck in finding ANY channels..... i do have splitters in my setup at home, so i have tried the box at my girlfriends which is a direct connection, there does seem to be a lot of variables to change when scanning, this seems to be trial and error....... especially for a noob like myself..... but i'm sure a veterain would have this up and running in no time......

will let you know how i get on.

Hi Smoggy,

thanks for replying

when i choose power scan, i'm presented with a choice of:

start freq. @ 100Mhz
stop freq. @ 887Mhz
symbol rate @ 6952Mbaud
symbol rate @ 6887Mbaud
symbol rate @ 6875Mbaud
symbol rate @ 6111Mbaud
modulator @ 64OAM
Step @ 6Mhz.

each option can be manually changed, these are the default options.

i found a link on a forum yesterday, a documents listing each of the Symbol Rates for each town in UK, "Stevenage" was listed, but Symbol Rate was blank, this is an ex - NTL area,

i'm currently running, a V+HD box, cable modem and an modded analouge cable box, which is what the eurovox is to replace.

when i scan i don't detect any channels, not even FTA?

any advice or directions you can give would be great.

Thanks

normally its
symbol rate = 6887 for ex ntl (if it don't work try 6952)
symbol rate = 0.000
symbol rate = 0.000
symbol rate = 0.000
modulator = QAM64
Step = 8

EDIT :
start freq. @ 100Mhz
stop freq. @ 887Mhz

Hey dude. I just got my box earlier this week, and when I first got the box set up, everytime I tried to scan I could not find any channels. I was using the 6887 frequency for my area and still nothing. I remembered that I read through a subject on signal strength a few days ago, so it might be worth taking into account the signal. The recommended signal is around 80% if I remember correctly. There is a way of checking the signal via your Eurovox, have a toggle around and find it. Also, after I tried scanning a few times with no luck, I realised that the cable was untidy behind my TV. After I removed the cable tangle, I scanned again and found over 300 channels and my box is now working fine. Make sure you check the cable and make sure it is running smoothly to your 'box on the wall', tangled and knotted cables affect the signal a lot. Also, when you do find the channels you have to activate a decoder to unscramble the channels. You go to the language settings, press red to save, then enter '2520' and the emulation option will appear. Good luck.
