My box went down yesterday so i tried to find a new fix and reprogram my card. Had a few problems remembering how to reprogram my card so been trying to reprogram it for a day with no luck even though i was sure i did it right but i kept getting errors saying card not inserted properly. After i while i decided to check the engineer menu and i have the error can you see EMMs with a big red No next to it. After searching old threads i found that someone had a similar problem and it was due to his talkback not being cut. When i bought the box from the guy i knew(who i cant contact anymore!!!) he told me talkback was cut but i decided to read a tutorial about cutting talkback and when opening up and looking at my machine it isnt cut so now i have done that but i still have the same red no in the can you see EMMS box in the engineers menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated

it could be a few different things causing ur problem..eg low signal....what box is it?
talkback not being cut will not cause this problem Last edited by slufc; 15-09-09 at 08:10 PM. Reason: forgot to say |

its a pace 4000. when i go into the installation summary it says the card has a mute err. Could this be caused by the card being incorrectly programmed or is it more likely to be problem with card or card reader?

Hi
Mute err is usually card reader/card knacked, but I have had that on the odd occassion when card has been programmed badly so redo card or try another card if you have one. If you are redoing card erase it a few times then program and see if that helps. Regards |

Hi
Options are a bit limited then, try reading the card and saving the read files to compare with files you are trying to write to make sure that files are being wrote correctly if you know what I mean......if they are being wrote correctly erase card few ties and write back the files and try again if still same then likelyhood of card reader or card knackered. Hey there
I bought a new funcard and programmed it there. it still says mute err at smart card status. Is there anything else i can do or does this mean that my card reader has gone? When i hold the down button and put the machine on the error i get is smart card not inserted properly....Thanks |

Hi
Points towards card reader knackered, I think there is a tut by edcase I think on card reader replacement or repair not sure which, sometimes a couple of pins get bent in card reader and if sorted out maybe allright. If its not pins and reader needs replacing I dont think theyre that expensive....but try looking for tut. I have it somewhere if you cant find it pm me and I`l try and send it to you. Regards |
