Changing from a 500C to a 500S -Help Please!!!

Hi everyone,
I am new to all of this. I am in a cable area just now and have a 500c which shows me all the channels.
I am moving house to a Satellite only area. If I buy a 500S or better, what do I need to view all the Sky channels?

p.s. I don't know anything about programming, images or connecting box to internet.

You can't view Sky, via satellite, without a subscription, even if you go the C/S route someone will have to subscribe.
There are lots of other satellites to view, apart from Sky, 28.2E, and a lot of other packages you can subscribe to.

How do i go about subscribing to other providers? I have never had a satellite dish before, always cable. Do I need to buy a smart card or something like that?

Hi, There is a great satellite mag in the newsagents and you will find various suppliers advertising offical cards for a whole lot of satellite viewing, go the motorised dish way or just a dish with multi LNB on it. These guys will point you in the right direction regarding setting up a dish. Thats what is so great about this site, loads of info and help.

If you want the UK entertainment channels then the best bet is to ring Sky UK & subscribe!
