Default EX5000 Outside UK and AC-3 Questions

Hello guys.

My name is Luciano, i am from Brazil.
I intend to buy an Eurovox EX5000 and use it in Brazil.

I know it's designed for UK market, but maybe you can tell me if it can work here or not. I have a Dreambox working fine here.

Our network specs:
Freq.: ~699.00MHz / SR 5217 / QAM128

Can Eurovox be used in such network like this?
Does it have a network/channel search function?

Also, there are many channels here that only have AC-3 audio PIDs. Does EX5000 chipset decode this kind of audio? May i hear these channels sound using the standard RCA output?

Thank you very much for helping!

It doesn't have NIT network search, it should support your SR and QAM. I don't think it decodes AC3 though.

Do you mean i would have to place a network channel list out there? Is it an easy thing todo?

Also, i found somewhere that EX5000 has the Sti5518 BQC chipset. Does anyone confirm it? If so, as for the specifications it has the DTS decoder embedded.

Thanks for helping

You would set your SR and QAM, it then steps up 1Mhz at a time until it finds a signal, it then steps at 8Mhz steps finding extra transponders. You may be able to manually specify the frequency spacing. I really don't know about AC3 or DTS availability as UK cable doesn't use that for non-HD channels.

Thanks again for your help.

Am i able to set the SR to any value? I saw somewhere, maybe an original firmware screenshot allowing only SR like 6200 - 6400 as chooses.

What about Nagra (I and II)? Am i able to place a new provider and keys?

Thank you very much!
