Hi folks,
I may have stumbled on a temporary solution (until we get new firmware) to recorded programmes displaying the channel name rather than the programme name. I noticed that if I recorded by hitting the record button on the remote, when I stopped recording and pressed the pvr button the programme name would be listed. However, if I set the timer by going to the EPG and pressing the yellow (reserve) button then it would be listed in the PVR under the channel name. I know a lot of people have mentioned that this is very frustrating and I got to thinking that there must be some trigger to determine how a recording is named. I have discovered that if I do the following I get the programme name and not the channel name.... Using the remote control, set the timer to record a programme listed on the EPG by pressing the yellow (reserve) button followed by the red (save) button and then the blue (yes) button and then exit out of all menus. Next, press the menu button, scroll right to system and then down to Timer. Bring up the details for the programme that you have just set to record and then scroll down to Channel and change it to the next channel along by pressing either right or left. Press the red (save) button followed by the blue button to confirm the change. Then exit out of all menus Go back into the timer setting as above and change the channel back to the one that you want to record. Then just save, confirm and exit. After recording if you check the pvr the programme name should be listed and not the channel name. I have tested this a few times now and it works for me so could anyone else confirm that it does for them. I know it's a bit of messing around but it only takes a few seconds and saves having to scan to the start of a film to find out which one it is if you've got couple saved. Finally, I've over-simplified the guide to accomodate the new recruits and hope that the more experienced members don't think that I've come across as patronising. Cheers DJ67 |

I personally haven't had any issues with recording and the program names etc, its always displayed what I actually recorded for me, so I won't be able to test this for you, but none the less, great post. Nice to see new members giving something back!
