Default Which DVB-C card now the Floppy is gone

I use a TT 1501 and Digital Everywhere DVB-C. What would be the next choice for a new card that supports HD

Q1 - A card that supports CAM
Q2 - One that does not

Any experiences of working options under VMC or MP would be great

They pretty much all do the job if your signal is good enough. Most of the simple cards will support HD straight off. Its just a matter of having the correct codecs on your PC. The TT1501 you have should run HD with the correct codec installed.

They pretty much all run with BDA drivers these days so one looks very much like any other (the drivers abstract tha actual hardware and makes em all function pretty much the same way). They will all run with Softcams with the appropriate software. Most will also have plug-in hardware cam options available (usually at extra cost).

Look at Technotrend and Twinhan devices. Support for those is usually pretty good but again I will emphasise, you need a good incoming signal level !

None of these cards are really designed for the UK so unless your signal level is in the upper segment of normal then you may be disappointed. Generally, a dvb-c card tuners performance will be on a par with dreambox dm500c tuners - fairly weak !
