Default ex7000hd

helo everyone,,, ive been reading through the forums here and there and i bought a ex70000hd so i could get the hd channels,, even thoug there is only 5 working and one coming soon!
i would guess anyone else with one of these boxes would agree the pic quality on hd is fantastic! even on sd the quality is good not brilliant but good!
but i have to wonder why, with the problems with the channel listings and favorites etc there hasnt been a software update yet?
this box is outstanding at what it does,, very stable and works well but the software is like bathing in toffee!

hopefully one day soon someone will create better software with a propper epg,,, in fact ive only ever had channel names with a simple program name and nothing else on the epg, not like my sagem dbox2 that tells me everything !

just thought id have my 2 mins to say what i thought about these boxes and if anyone is thinking of buying one ive noticed the price creeping up recently so now might be the time to buy! they are worth the money its just a shame the software isnt better,, otherwise a very good box and hd is outstanding!

regards dave (usually residing in dbox section!)

Any future buyers beware as the market is soon to be flooded with clone units of this model

I have e-mailed the developer of the EX1100 firmware, he is going to look at the EX7000 firmware and see if there is anything he can do with it.

Is there anyway to get involved in the modifying of the firmware? Surely if the coders allowed people to help the problem of non-existant support would be a thing of the past...

That's the problem of closed source firmware - it's difficult to get hold of.

Well, if anyone can put me in touch with one or several of the coders, I would really like to get involved, I have way too much time on my hands and to be able to resolve some of the bugs in the ex7000 firmware would be a real achievement for me, something I am nigh on determined to do, especially now its clear just how hard getting involved is.

That was my thinking, at least about playing with it, I'm an IT Administrator by profession and have a fair few friends who code in just about anything (talkin' major geeks here) and I'd bet if we could identify the programming language used, one of em might be able to do something.
