Default My kryptview remote stopped working during set up.

My kryptview remote stopped working during set up.

Absolutely no idea what happened, I configured the PC with the Kryptview A750 with the null modem cable, found the relevant downloads, downloaded 5 out of 6 downloads successfully, the last download timed out because the remote control stopped responding.

Computer gave error saying “download not requested”

I thought I did not need the 6th download so set the box up on the television to initialise set up, it was then I spotted the remote was not working, I could only scroll down and do nothing else.

Hooked box back up to the PC and tried to do the 6th download again I realised remote was dead as a dodo.

Opened the box checked contacts everything looks fine.

So I have sent the box back special delivery.

Do you need to use all the downloads?,or can downloading all of them cause problems ?

No idea what went wrong?

you cant even manually install one of these boxes because theres no buttons other than a channell change.

always happens to me ffs.

Hi

Im a bit confused what 6 downloads, dont know what you mean here. You just download the latest firmware to the box and thats it then do a scan.

Regards

Bloody hell, this post is most confusing and yer won't get very far with details like this, if yer want help then be more specific on exactly wot yer point is instead of download 6 times or woteva.

Wots yer issue on this one, if yer can't be more clear in wot yer problem is then don't post a thred like this cos people can't understand wot yer probo is.

it sounds to me that you have put on 6 diff f/w on your box you only need to put the one on for the model of your box

Your correct mate that’s exactly what I did, I went to the download section and was unsure which download I needed out of the ones available, so decided to down load all of them thinking some of them were patches and it would not cause problems etc, like I said I managed to do 5 off them with the remote control using the “press red twice and standby process” with out any problems on the 6 th download the remote control stopped responding and the computer gave the error “download not requested”.

I initially thought that download was simply not needed and didn’t realise at that time the remote for the box was not working.

Like I said I hooked up the box to the television and realised the remote was not working, I was only able to scroll using the buttons on the front of the Kryptview box, and then I knew something was wrong.

How do I know which is the latest firmware to download ?

Which files should I avoid ?

One of the firmware updates does seem to disable the remote, but once you re-load with the correct one it works fine. Im surprised their letting you send the box back as I thought the firmware voids the warranty? Better luck with your replacement though.

Well, its pretty simple, you stated you have a Kryptview A750, all you need is the latest firmware for the A750 (NOT all Kryptview firmware, just the latest for your box) connect as discussed back to the pc, download the firmware, scan, done.

Remote should start working again too, since it clearly stopped working after you flashed it with the wrong firmware.

Use the 12/07/09 firmware and dont use the red button method to flash, flash it this way Easy Guide to updating the A700c and a750

Are you using a usb-seriel adapter or a dedicated COM port?

A bit of a catch 22 though, how would I be able to correctly download the file seeing as the remote is now disabled, to instigate a download I have to press the red button twice and standby, but now the remote is not working, there is no facility on the box for doing it manually.
