Default Am I Paying Too Much??

Hi Guys,

I have a EX7000 with the medium package tv, 10mb broadband with wireless router and phoneline. I currently pay £37 ish a month.

Is this too much?

I want to phone them, up and get the price reduced, but worried they will say no. Or threaten to leave, to get a lower price, and they cut my broadband off (not bothered bout tv for obvious reasons) which I use a lot for downloading films etc.

I think Virgin broadband is one of the best as Ive never had any problems in 4yrs!

And if I just keep the phone line (dump the broadband and tv) will I still have a "live" feed for my cable?

I bought a modified modem a year or so ago thinking it would be easy to set up, but with mac addresses etc, I couldnt get my head around it so its sat in a cupboard doing nothing!

Anyone have any suggestions for this dilema I face in this tough econimical climate!

Thanks

Neil.

You are definatly paying too much IMO. VM are currently offering the package you are on for £25inc line rental. As for if you just keep the phone, you should still have a live feed for a while although an engineer can come and disconnect it from the street cab at anytime.

That said, i have heard of people who have had a live feed for 2 years+ after cancelling subscription, it really is just pot luck

edit: You are only likely to be offered a lower price if you have been with them for longer than the 12 month min contract period.

Would def get on to the phone and see if they are willing to lower the price, might help to mention that you get a better deal from BT..........

hi.i pay £20 a month for M tv package, broadband and phone line with unlimited weekend calls.that was introductory offer when i joined a 12 month contract just over a year ago but obviously thats now lapsed but still payin £20 so yeah, your payin over the odds.as said previously,if you threaten to leave they'll probably cave.they'd surely want to get something out of you than nothing and cheaper deals DO exist.tell them what deal i'm on and you're a loyal customer so deserve the same.

you are right virgin broadband is a1, you will get a discount if you ring them, press the 'thinking of leaving us button' and tell them BT have offered you a CHEAPER package. they usually give you half price for 6 months, especially if you are a long standing customer
