have never used or had the need to use the subtitle option but I can confirm that it does not work on my max v with 30/11/08 nosort firmware (exactly the same symptoms as VID)
whether it has ever worked or just a glitch in the latest firmware I don't know |

i cant get them on the asian channels on a ex5100 pvr
i dont know why they neva work on asian channels but on blue box they do dontk now what it is tried everything |
