hi all, first post and just a quick 1 just wondering if this model you get skysports hd or are they upscaled to 1080 many thanks

no dont get sky sports HD and there doesnt seem to be anything in the pipeline for cable to get it either. All non HD channels are upscaled on the ex7000HD

BBC HD
Channel 4HD
ESPN HD

National Geography HD

It depends on what you want really. The EX7000HD is becoming increasingly difficult to source and the Kryptview 800 HD is coming soon(at the same price-ish) if you want that in October. Eurovoxes are reliable in my eyes.

quick additional question here, how well does the 7000HD upscale SD channels? Is it comparably better quality than what i'd see on my EX5100PVR?

We'll I cannot confirm about your situation, because I don't have an EX5100 pvr to compare it with, but against VM boxes, the picture quality is amazing, be that a Pace or a Samsung VM box.

I also had the chance to compare it with a Kryptview 750, and again, although the Kryptview was also alot better in quality than the VM boxes, the Eurovox was without a doubt noticably better even then.
