I put an aljazeera sports card that i bought about 6 months ago by placing it into the reciever, and it only opens aljazeera sports +1,+2+3+4 on Hotbird 13E but not 5-8. is this usual? is there anything i can do open the remaining channels?

Yes - you have to pay extra and have your card upgraded if you want +5 -> +8

You have not been ripped off as they only added the extra 4 channels last month and now charge more for an 8 channel card than they did for the 4 channel!

I'm in similar situation as OP. I bought new Al Jazeera 1-8 irdeto card for Hotbird & Irdeto cam 2 weeks ago. All 8 channels were working fine until yesterday. Now I get message telling me 'Irdeto Prompt; E16 Service is currently scrambled' on all 8 channels. Any help appreciated.

Try contacting the company you bought it from?

Yeah done that just after I posted, according to them it was error at Al Jazeera. They said they contacted them earlier and problem was they 'switched off' a number of cards by error and they will be reactivated in next few days. I don't know what to make of that, just hoping it true.

I have the same problem with an AJS card. I bought it last week and now, after only one week, it stopped working.

Has anyone found a solution to this?
