Hi I'm searching for a card reader for my MacBook Pro. Does anyone has any suggestions for me?

AFAIK the software for reading/writing to ROM cards (NagraEdit 4.1) doesn't have a mac version, so you may find you'll be hard pushed to use a macbook to unloop cards. I assume this is what you are enquiring about?

Drivers for a card reader for mac are likely to be very hard if not impossible to find too, after checking several card reader manufacturers, there appears not to be any linux or mac drivers available at all!

I could be wrong, but from what I've looked at, you would be better off using a windows laptop/pc with XP or Vista if you want to read/write/unloop cards.

You can also use older versions of windows, but some users experience issues.

Just my two cents..

If you've got dual-boot or virtualisation (via fusion/etc) enabled, then you can run NagraEdit in windows mode. However... remember, the MB or MBP doesn't have a serial port... and nagraedit doesn't like usb-to-serial converters.

You may be better off looking at running this off another PC... particularly one which has a serial port.

Laptops are increasingly not including legacy connections like parallel, serial & PCMCIA ports in favour of USB ports - which have now become standard.

Just don't understand why there are no good USB ISO programmers/unloopers out there to program all types of cards.

Perhaps people are just not looking in the right direction to transition into USB?
