Is there no copyright on the brand 'Eurovox' then?
Bet someone's kicking himself over that!

The GUI is different from anything I have seen before. The firmware and channel data files are similar format to the Technomate and Clarke-tech satellite receivers.

Define 'different' ?

As I am really sick of the poorly made Eurovox EX1000/EX7000HD

I don't see why someone can't make a gui similar (or better) than the real virgin media one. We're paying these people hundreds of pounds and it costs them next to nothing

It's similar but not the same as other boxes, the graphics etc are different. It's not just a modification of the firmware of another known box.

Some people may consider the current GUI better than that of a V Box

The EX7000HD is much better than the EX1000SL but I don't see why the EPG isn't extended so you can see 15 channels at once and see the names properly rather than displaying 8 channels, with half the names and loads of unused space.

Thumbs up Re: Another new Eurovox - EX6000SD

Just a point of interest -To enter the cas menu on the ex6000sd simply press 8282 this will take you into the encryption pages.

I have had a good look via search, but I cannot find any further info on this 8282 feature of the EX6000. Does anyone know how to use it please? does it work for "adult" channels?

Got my 6000 from Lincsat today - brilliant service and looks like a great bit of kit.

The "8282" feature accesses the Key editor in the patched firmware. You do not need to do anything with this currently.
