Default Worth Getting - IPTV Switchover

With all this talk about Virgin bringing in this IPTV and boxes not working, I'm in 2 minds as to whether I should put my hand in my pocket to buy a Eurovox, for it to not work in a month or so, or even a year.

vm will only be rolling out iptv in non cabled areas, it has already been delayed twice

Virgin Media, which is engaged in an acrimonious battle with BSkyB over the pricing of Sky's basic channels, has announced it plans to launch a Virgin Media-branded digital terrestrial set-top box bundled with an on-demand internet protocol television (IPTV) service for those households living beyond its cable network. Virgin Media said it was close to securing a wholesale local loop unbundling provider "which will enable us to launch new quad-play product propositions outside of our cable network with only modest capital investment

lol, so why are they already testing IPTV facilities on cable in certain test areas ?

VM have announced on several occasions that they plan to roll out IPTV to all cable customers sometime before the Olympics begin in 2012. What this rollout actually entails nobody actually knows yet but one of the test areas (Leeds) is already broadcasting a new caid which is NOT N1/N2/N3 so it looks like a new CAM is being prepared.

The price of Sly at £66.00 a month if you have the full package with HD channels and Vermin at £70.00, means it’s a no brainer.

What’s your alternative?
