Default sb5100i question

hey
i have a sb5100 modem and its already chipped ive ordered the blackcat cable now i have a question
because my modems already chipped should there be a connection in my modem to connect the black cat cable? or do i have to keep soldering one on everytime i wanna flash it?
also im using the SIGMA-X Version 1.06 RC4 BETA1 firmware
if i want to change the config file, config tftp ip or the mac there is spaces and a button saying "change" to do so
would it just be a case of putting a new mac etc in these bits and hey presto?
thanks for any help and yes i am a newbie lol

If I were you I would stick with 1.06, it's the best. This is because it has the built in sniffer!

if your looking to re-flash it id go with haxorware every time mate, you can do everything in hax's own webpage 192.168etc... the only reason i left mine on sigma is because im too lazy too put hax on and "if it aint broke, it dont need fixing" personally id try changing the mac and checking other settings 1st
