Exclamation Remember Remember its the 30th of September

In case you are not aware its national retune day for Freeview.

Quote:
Receiving an improved Freeview service
On the morning of Wednesday 30 September Freeview services will be updated. These technical changes should be complete by lunchtime, enabling many more people to receive channel Five, as well as preparing for future improvements like Freeview HD and new channel launches.

As a result, everyone with a Freeview TV, box, recorder or PC card will need to re-tune their equipment on or after 30 September to make sure they still receive all their available digital channels. BT Vision and Top Up TV boxes also use the Freeview signal, so will need to be re-tuned too. Analogue, satellite and cable services won’t be affected.

Re-tuning should only take a few minutes
The Freeview update has been planned to avoid peak TV viewing times, so you’ll be able to re-tune your equipment from lunchtime onwards. You don’t need to do it on the day, just make sure it’s all sorted before you sit down to watch a bit of TV. Here’s how.

Re-tuning instructions vary from model to model, so we’ve provided specifics in the downloadable guides below. In general, you should be able to switch on your equipment and press ‘menu’ or ‘home’ on your remote control. With the arrow keys select ‘settings’, then ‘digital set-up’ and ‘digital auto tuning’. Press the centre or ‘ok’ button to re-tune stations – your equipment will confirm once the process is complete.

Just as you’d regularly check the tyre pressure on your car, it’s worth re-tuning your Freeview equipment every now and again. This way you’ll be sure to benefit from the latest range of channels and services.
