Default Download/upload speed with legit vm

What kind of download/upload speeds do people really get with 20mb vm broadband? I rung vm to complain yesterday , aso i was getting max 100kb/s d/l 20 kb/up. on speedtest.net it showed 1mb d/l 100kb up.....
Generally the fastest d/l speed i get is 1mb/s . Is this normal?

hello mate.. i don't know for everyone else but for me this is not normal. I have a legit 20MB with Virmin and i download from torrents (private trackers) at about 2147kb/s and can upload at about 478kb/s (i think as i don't upload often)

Hope that helps.. thanks

I rung vm yesterday and got through to a customer service guy. He was an idiot, and was simply reading off a script.
He said , that this is probbably because the server im d/l from cant go any faster . I said that could be a problem but i download of mutiple websites i get a total of 1mbs.. i pause 2 /3 that one jumps to 1mb/s . This guy just kept repeating it was normal - there was nothing he can do - theres nothing wrong with my line. I asked to be put through to t2 tech support - Appearntly they don't exist ( which is bs). How the hell can vm get away with such bs? Getting 5% of what im paying for.... lol...

i d/l from newsgroups at approx 1200 kb/s on a 10Mb legit Virgin connection so something def not right there mate. Are you running your connection through a router? I have a linksys router and found it was throttling the speed until i manually changed the port forwarding for the programs I used. After that it worked fine.

Try that and see if it helps

edit: also check that whatever firewall you're using has the ports opened as well.
