HELP cant load firmware ex1000 SL

Ive followed every instruction found on here and cant load firmware. Bought from cablebox last week no firmware installed. Ive had messages from com1/com2 flashing to waiting for response from receiver. Can anyone help please

Have the box power to OFF, run the firmware and when message comes, switch box power ON.
Also make sure the com port is not already being used.

ive had the same problem with the ev slimline 1100usb, same response, 'waiting for reiciever' etc, i tried it on my other box, the ex 5000, and that worked no problem. it seems me pc cant detect the box, i was directed to the 'after dawn' forum, where someone mentioned the com ports. i tried what they said..also to no avail. i even had to restore my pc to an earlier date cos after i,d messed with the com port malarkey, i couldnt get ANY of them to work. when i tried downloading the firmware for this particular model, it wouldnt open. someone mentioned something about having to download the f/w onto a memory stick, and then onto the box. can anyone point me in the right direction. cheers.

Ive tried eveything although this is not a USB ex1000, com1/coms2 flashing, tried selecting 1 or 2, turning box off n on several times but just get message waiting for response from receiver. Already spent 3 hours on this. Any other sugestions please?

Are you using just a null modem cable or a null modem cable and a USB adaptor?
If you are using a null cable and a USB adaptor, you need to make sure the drivers for the USB adaptor are loaded/updated proper, otherwise it will NOT see your box.

Hi I was just using a null modem cable. Just gatting the FTA channels all the others are scramled although epg is upto date. Just cant load the latest firmware

did you get it sorted, cos lincsat reckons you just download the f/w onto a memory stick, then put that into reciever and 10 seconds later bobs ya uncle
