Default The mrs bought a blocked phone from ebay...

The mrs has just bought a phone from eBay which has turned out to be blocked. Three of course won't unblock it but will one of the old dodgy phone shops be able to sort this out?

Got the IMEI 35852401-378618-8-60 and also found the NCK menu (left, *, left left, *) but don't know the net code.

Anyone able to help me out? She's gutted as she really like the phone - it's a purple SE 770i.

You can really only unblock by changing the imei as blocking is done by the network providers (they are supposed to share blocking data) rather than in the phone.

Changing the imei on a phone is, of course, very illegal !!!

If no mention was made on ebay about the phone being blocked I would suggest you initiate a complaint procedure against the seller and see if you can recover the cost as the phone is obviosly not fit for purpose and is possibly stolen property.

if you mean the phone is blocked/ sim card locked/ then it can be done.
if you mean the phone is blocked/imei number barred then there is no chance of getting that phone to work in the uk. end of story

Unlocking is removing the sim lock to use your phone on any GSM network

Unblocking is a lost or stolen phone that is blocked from the network.

I would send it back to the seller...
