On Monday he received a brand new genuine Starview 4 USB receiver from myself. On Tuesday he said the clone message was appearing with the V1.12 software.

He copied the V1.07 UK software on to a USB memory stick & went on to install it. He has since replied to me & said the V1.07 installed successfully & the clone message is now gone permanently. This is a good sign, that genuine boxes are not being bricked if you downgrade the software to V1.07.

I have since come to know that the V1.12 software does a validation hardware check, to identify certain components on the mainboard. If the validation check identifies some new components that are not part of the existing V1.12 checklist, it is displaying this clone message.

So the chap that was getting the clone message, please just install the V1.07 software & all will be fine.

Thanks for the patience folks.

Cheers

Zemme
Ok, but what happens when a new keyroll knocks 1.07 off?

Right the file didin't load in. Box frozen. So I've had to switch off and let it re-boot. And guess what?? it's went back to normal, no "clone" message (for now).
