Just got one of those new gizmos from 3. Thought it would be a new gadget to play with.

Using it right now and I'm very impressed, forum loads quickly with it, and set-up was an absolute doddle. Nice little instruction cards given to make it really easy.

So, what it does:

It basically creates a wireless network so you can connect to it with a standard wi-fi equipped laptop, PDA, PSP,Blackberry, IPOD etc. The modem part of it then provides the connection to the internert via the 3G mobile network.

Piccy below. With me sitting in my car, it is smaller than most mobile phones.

Anyone else got any experiences with this thing, good or bad ?

BTW, I got one of these rather than a dongle as I'm using a Netbook running Linux, and the dongles may not work.

The unit itself was £69.99, and then the monthly charge is £15 for 5 G byte download. There is no long contract, just one month, so you don't get tied in. Presumably I'll be able to up or down the bandwidth when if I want to, on a monthly basis.

The cost I don't think is too bad, it will pay for itself easily in time wasted waiting for people to get their PCs online when I need the net, using it for business purposes mainly.

thats a goog price considering the fact that any wifi device can connect to it wirelessley without the need for a pc bridge.
perfect if you want to bring your ps3 on hols with you lol

Ok, One hitch, my street has no Three 3G coverage, plenty on Orange though, I don't believe Three's coverage map, as it says it should work outside OK, but it doesn't, I'll see over time, when or where it does or doesn't work.

Taking it abroad for holiday would be prohibitive though, as the costs are astronomical.

3 in my area is so bad, you get only 1 or 2 bars signal. i get full signal on any other network though.

The signal indicator on the device is RED, YELLOW or GREEN. RED means it doesn't work. Still, I suppose 2 bars is better than my RED.
