Hi folks, trying to flash a webby, done 1 b4 and took forever but managed using this tut, i have a 232 interface conected to the pc with a usb rs232 cable, i think thats what its called anyway, trouble is everytime i follow the instructions then get to hyperterminal and press p the board ip adrress always comnes up 0.0.0.0 instead of 192.168.100.10, i have changed all ip options to correct settings, am i doing something wrong or is this just 1 that is bricked or what, any help would be much appeciated folks
Once that is hooked up then attach the Ethernet lead to your modem but not the power lead, NEVER ATTACH THE CABLE FEED UNTIL THE VERY END WHEN YOU ARE TOLD TOO! To start with, download the Tftpd32 folder that i put here, if you already have it on your pc then delete it and use this one please, the Haxorware FW is in this folder as well, so everything is basically done for you. In Windows Networking, set your network adaptor too- IP Address: 192.168.100.10 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.100.1 Leave any other settings alone and hit OK. Start Tftpd32 and make sure it says 192.168.100.10 in the Server Interfaces part, if it does not say it then close down Tftpd32, and attach the modem you are hacking to the Ethernet lead and power supply, wait 5 seconds and start Tftpd32 again, it should now say 192.168.100.10, remove the power from the modem again as its not time to have it on yet. Now start HyperTerminal and 'X' the connection description to make it go away and press 'Properties' which is the little button right under help at the top with the finger pointing down, its the last button. When you click that then go to 'Connect using' and change it too 'COM1' and hit 'Configurate', then change - 'Bits Per Second' - 115200 'Data Bits' - 8 'Parity' - None 'Stop Bits' - 1 'Flow Control' - None Press OK Now make sure that HyperTerminal is the program you are looking at otherwise you will miss the 'P' Power up the modem and press P straight away, you need to be quick to catch it, you should then see the following- (The part you write is the parts in BOLD) 'Board IP Address [0.0.0.0]: 192.168.100.1 and just press enter 5 times slowly incase you miss anything, after you press Enter 5 times you should stop at the 'Main Menu' which has a load of options, you must press - d and Enter, you will get 2 more things up which are - Board TFTP Server IP Address [0.0.0.0]: 192.168.100.10 Enter TFTP Filename[]: haxorware10rc3_Ambit250_fullflash.bin (or haxorware10rc4_Ambit250_fullflash.bin if you are using that FW of haxorware) You should then see the program starting the TFTP of Haxorware etc When its finished it will say Tftp Complete Received 20xxx52 bytes HSC failed on Image 0 Program Header Next when asked do you wish to store it then press 'Y' and Enter, then sector to Start press 0 (zero) enter, modem will start working its magic. Store Parameters [n] just press enter The modem will do what it does and go back to the main menu again :-) Exit HyperTerminal and everything else but still dont connect your cable feed, reboot your modem, which i think helps it load the haxorware page quicker as sometimes it does not load after you have flashed it without a reboot, now load INTERNET EXPLORER and press 192.168.100.1 in the address bar and it should take you to the Haxorware page to sort out the settings, cool well the settings are as follows- Configuration: --------------------- Settings- General: Factory Mode - Unticked Disable Firmware Upgrades - Ticked Force Network Access - Ticked Tftp Enforce Bypass - Ticked Disable IP Filters on Startup - Unticked Current IP Filters Status - Optimized Press Save Administration: Control Panel IP Address - 192.168.100.1 DHCP Server - Ticked Telnet Server - Unticked Username - Root Password - Admin Press Save Frequency Settings: Annex - Both Plan - European Preferred DS Freq 1 - 402750000 (this is for NTL, TW is 331000000 and others are different) 2 and 3 - 0 Upstream channel - dont change (will change on its own) Press Save Addresses: HFC MAC - Your Mac Address Ethernet Mac - Dont touch USB MAC - Copy your HFC MAC address, only this time change the last letter/number on it to 1 letter/number higher. Serial Number - Dont Touch Press Save Config File: Leave blank, you can no longer force configs. Do not touch any settings in here. Press Save Baseline Privacy: BPI - Disabled Certificate - BPI Public Key All the rest in the Baseline privacy section will not be touched. Press Save, basically press save in every page when ever you change settings otherwise they wont stick. Now put your IP options back to - Obtain IP address Automatically and rebbot your modem and attach your cable feed. And that is that, that should be everything done and you should now be able to get online. |

You need to set the board ip to 192.168.100.1 on the modem, the reason your getting an ip conflict is because you are setting the modem and your tftp server to the same address, it just wont work like that, when you fire up the modem and press p when it gets to the bit about board address set it to 192.168.100.1 leave your pc set as 192.168.100.10 and try again!

im not sure what morrisoft is finding funny, although its been a while since I flashed any modems, I could be saying something completly wrong but the only way I can see you getting an ip conflict is by setting the modems ip and your pc's ip to the same address as there is nothing else on the network ie you have a patch lead going between your pc and the modem, therefore there is nothing else there for their to be an ip conflict with!
