Default slingbox-cable-laptop ?

I am contemplating a slingbox connected to a samsung/dbox cable receiver to link up with a laptop when we go to Greece. Does anybody have experience of this set up, which sb to go for and the basic config at the host end - does this host pc need to be running continually. We just have the modem with a VM 10mg connection?

The slingbox is connected to the router not the pc.

Remember you will need a decent bb connection speed at the holiday location as well.
