Talking advise on how to back up stock settings on s/a 2100

alright chaps ive got some s/a 2100's i wanna flash, now i normally solder in me 8 pin header and flash them with blackcat serial lead.

but today i want to try it using the max232 method, now ive read up on most tutorials but most of them only tell you how to flash them wot i want to do 1st is make a back up of the factory stock settings on there in case it bricks.

can anyone tell me wot options i need to press and when so i can do this cheers.

iam gonna use hyperterminal and tftpd to flash them is that ok or if there is some better programs out then let me know i will try them instead.

thanks

you might try softjtag to dump it all but i think blackcat would be your best bet.

if your backing up to make a diag modem, you'll be best putting a header on it if theres not already one there.

i wouldnt worry to much about returning to stock if it bricks.

what flash chip has it got?

hello there G77, one has a samsung chip and the other has MX chip.

i fink i will solder them on and make a back up that way, as ive got some other 2100's with infinite on them i wanna upgrade to haxo, but ive gotta put them back to stock 1st. so making a back up these will come in handy

i fink iam gonna try and do at least one using the max232 method just so i can learn how to do it should and soldering iron not be to hand for some reason.
