Default Which DVB-C card now the Floppy is gone

I posted before but the response was minimal.

My question is I need to but 2 more DVB-C cards and have already purchased a Floppy and a TT1501

I would plan to use Vplug but want a CAM option if things get sticky in the future and slots are not an issue.

MP's forum talk badly about the terratec which was my first choice so what else is there.

The plan is to use W7x64 as hopefully that is what is delivered at the end of the month.

I cannot wait months for the Chinese DE DVB-C to arrive.

Help me out guys on what works and its MP if that makes a difference

Personally, I would look at DBoxes with DVBLink.

As I understand it, the DBox sits anywhere on the network and can be used on two separate machines (but not at the same time). DVBLink costs, but it's about £15 I think.

Having the DBox away from the HTPC means you can have a much smaller/cooler/quieter HTPC under your TV and you can always plug the DBox straight into the back of the TV if the HTPC gets borked!

Thanks for the Dbox info, I had read the other thread and am looking at toying with this you can get a 500C for £55.

My interest in is x64. I could never get it to work well with the TT1501, Floppy was fine. So that leaves a choice of the Terratech and the Twinhan. Has anyone got 2 of these working together on a 64bit OS ?

Got some advice + reading and it seems windows 7 x64 works with a Terratech so I bought 2 with the CI. Will post with my results.

MP 1.1, vplug and also with Joken 0.79 and a zeta

Lets hope this is a replacement prefered choice after DE is not available.

To note I currently use a TT1501 + Floppy from DE and under x86 I cannot see any difference between the cards with a softcam.

My TV server is set to grap EPG and will happily decode 5 channels with vplug and MDAPI. Has not needed restarted for 3 weeks. Its the only source of TV in this house with 4 clients all Vista.

Stable 100% outstanding

Ugg, why change if the TT1501 works 100% for you??? Or does the TT1501 not work in W7 or x64 systems? How did the Cinergy work?

Well I recieved 2 Terratec Cynergy PCI CI HD cards. After much pain I discovered with the 1.1.0.601 drivers which are current only work in a 32 bit PCI slot. Its OS independant whether x86 or x64 its a driver compatability with 64 bit PCI. I tried multiple machines, cards Vista Win 7 x64 and x86.

The problem is they are reconised fine but will not pick up the channels on a channel scan. Within MP or the native software

I have one 32 bit PCI so I sent 1 back until they resolve the issue, I wouldnt hold your breath as they are so busy doing Win 7 drivers it will be the new year or later until this works.

Maybe I am wrong as it is a serious issue as most new PC's are 64 bit amd all ,y new ones only have 64bit PCI slots
