Default Random question - Cable without the box???

Random question.. pretty sure the answers gonna be no not a chance but recently bought a new samsung lcd which is capable of receiving air & cable signals and has a card slot on the side. Haven't done much research what is officially for but guessing it's pretty useless in the current UK market?

Anyone ever been able to use their tv ever to directly watch cable or anything cool people know we can do with these nifty card readers in them??

or anyway with a cable box or something you can decode the signal before u send it to the tv? as known a few people to randomly stick cable feeds into the back of their tv and to pick up the fta channels via them.

Most are for terestrial digital tv and have terestrial tuners built in, i think sony do one with a cable tuner, not sure if yours has, you need a cam and card to go in the slot.
The signal you get by sticking cable in tv is analogue ,only a few basic channels, which is gradually being turned off all over the country,

What TV is it? I saw a new Samsung television in Bright House at the weekend which had a CAM slot in the side and the specifications said it was DVB-C capable. If it does support cable, you will need a Nagravision CAM and a capable programmer such as the CAS3.

I think this is the one I saw: LED TV Series 8 UE46B8000 - LED TV - Television | SAMSUNG.

It also has an ethernet port and also wireless capabilities so that you can watch TV online!

Cardman's CAMs <<< that site sells Nagravision CAMs, I couldn't tell you how to program one mate as i've never used one but I know that the CAM is the same as a box because it has it's own unique box key so you will need to pair the smartcard to the CAM for it to work .

lol..

'The most interesting aspect of this CAM, for me at least, are those numbers just below the barcode. Any service provider would commonly call this number the CAM's serial number but to the rest of us it is more well known as the BoxKey'
