nothing new there bud, its been possible to jailbreak ipod/iphone 3.1 for quite some time now

can someone tell me the advantages of jailbreaking? I have an iPhone 3GS, but it works fine the way i want it, but i hear about this jailbreaking stuff?

basically if its jailbroken you can run third party apps on your phone.
eg: you can run cracked apps... like all the apps in the apple store without having to purchase them and you can customise your phone the way you would like to have it
