hi

i have been using a slingbox for a few months now i have a share with someone in florida with good results i also have a slingcatcher to my tv so i can watch on my big screen
the slingcatcher also does other things if you download a movie you can just send it stright to your tv youtube vids can just be streamed to tv a good piece of kit

i have just took a few screen shots of a couple of channels i get from florida on some you can see the speed of stream i get

Sounds like your having some good results m8. What sort or internet connections do you have on either end ? Does the picture freeze and skip at all or is it nice and stable ?

i am on a fast connection m8 but its what connection the person has who i share with determins the quality i get as i am uploading from him
the person in florida as 20 meg down 5meg up so i could only get a max of 5 meg here the best i have had is around the 3meg mark

i am on 50meg down 2meg up he averages a speed of around 1.2 meg

i hope this makes sence as it took a while for it to sink in for me

basically it works the opposite way round of what you would think or it did for me

and no i dont get any freezing or skipping very stable

Makes perfect sense m8, you can't download something faster than it can be sent.

I'm interested in the results as a m8 of mine (well his parents actually) has a place in florida, and he was considering one, but I'd only heard mediocre reports at best up to now. It's good to hear from someone who has got one working properly. Well Done

Don't you get fed up with the adverts, aren't they every 4 mins or something accross the pond ?

some times i only realy use it for movies and sometimes footy when not shown on sat or not in english
if you keep a eye on lj for fox soccer channel ** and goal tv ** they show some 3pm epl games aswell as others

here is a channel list i get 80% what you see here just click go at the end of city of bradenton

i also have a sling from japan it was there as a free sling i keep popping onto it now and again i dont get the quality i get from florida but it something to nosy at if i can find the info i will pm it you so you can have a look

No - its nothing to do with c/s'ing. Its place shifting the viewing experience nothing more.

I have just bought one of these slingboxes the slingbox classic off amazon for £53 I am sending it to a mate of mine in Sydney . Fox sports here I come

I just hope his internet speeds are goo enough
