Default Some newb help please

Hi, ive just recently got a flashed modem and now need to set it up, can i just ask, when i find a mac address, can i put any config file in or does it have to be the one that matches that mac. i have been given 2 that are meant to be 20mb so can i use them?

also, do i need to "spoof" the modem so i dont get caught?

Thanks

You only need to spoof your NIC, the fw on the modem has slight spoofing anyway.

Do you mean just put in the mac address and leave config blank and it will pick up the default one? does that mean the only way to determine your speed is by putting in mac addresses then doing a speed test?
