Hello
I am new to this forum and I have read a lot to find answer to my question but still not sure. I have got Samsung SMT-2100c left in my new house by the previous owner. It has got NTL card - it is likely paired but not sure. When I put cable in I can view only a few channels and the follwoing message appears on the screen: ' Sorry, you SmartCard may not be inserted properly so you won't be able to see all the channels. Just check the card and re-insert it. If this keep happening please call us...' MY QUESTIONS: 1. Am I able to get BK and IRD from this card or it is completely dead? I am not sure if I need JTAG (I would like to avoid extra expenses) 2. Do you think I will be able to MOSC from this card? 3. Which programmer you would suggest - to get BK/IRD from this card or eventually to make FUNCARD in the future MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP |

to read the card you would need to unlock it first (need an unlooper for that) then you would need a card reader/ programmer to read and program the card m8, you will habve to spend some money to do that but the card may not contain the details you are looking for m8.

As said above, if the card doesn't have a valid BK (ie it starts with 6D 56) then you will have to JTag the box to get the correct BK. Oh and I don't mean to have a go but it helps to search for what you are looking for before you start posting questions that have most likely been answered before
.

and a JTAG would be a lot cheaper than getting an unlooper and a programmer and still running the risk of needing to buy a JTAG anyway.
So yes, JTAG & Programmer is the way to go.
