Hi,

Can anyone tell me the correct part number for REPLACEMENT chips for the ambit 256 that are need to reprogramme with haxorware ?

Thanks for that, and just to reiterate that chip can be put into the modem and then programmed with haxorware...also i was wondering if its possible to flash them out of the modem with the willem 4.5

not with the willem no. they can be programmed out of th emodem thou.

have you found a supply?

Yes i have a supplier but they want more information, for example if i wanted a MX25L160 they came back with these and asked which i need, there are more suffixes than that but this is just an example, i dont want to order the wrong ones, im not even sure if the MX25L160 is even the replacement chip or the chip that is already in the ambit, thats why i think its best i go for the spansion one but i think they will again ask for more detail of the part, ie package number that describes the chip in whole.

MX25L1605MC-20G
MX25L1605AM2C-12G
MX25L1605AM2C-15G

PS..to programme out of the board i use the croc clips and spi programmer still ?

is there a uk supplier for these chips(blank) have tried rs/farnell and cpc but to no avail?

also on another note,anyone know if the chip coming out of the modem can be reprogrammed to work in a sammy 2110 box?

its an spi chip so i doubt it. the ones out of the sammys are 1024 serial eeprom

I have 500 of these...but my SPI programmer did not come with any flash files...i have the toolkit but i dont think those contain them

Ok i am listening ?.... you want to buy some blanks ? my friend commutes to hong kong on a regular basis and is willing to get them for me when needed...i do have 500 right now. i had a picture to post of proof i had them but for some bizarre reason i need 10 posts to be able to post links...seems that using the search button and finding what you need for yourself doesnt allways pay. :S i can email it to you if you like, it like a sort of ransom picture where they take a picture with todays newspaper
