The EPG works up here (manchester) but certain areas it is known to be crap!

I think the HD content consists of 6 channels at the moment, not 100% sure though, the mrs is dominating the TV now but i'll check for you later

Is that Manchester of the North West in general ronster?
This will be my first box so I don't want anything too complicated

Also, do you know what hard drives are compatible?

Cheers

ronster do you reckon they will change the favourites to be like eurovox, cause at the mo it sucks so bad.

and i know its only beta firmware. but i hope they make the favourites alot easier to access. as its taking me far too long to change from one channel to another lol

So can you not scroll through the channels like you would on the tv guide page on the vm box then? I thought it looked that way on the pics in the other thread?

1st kryptview Ant?i dont have one yet but my guess is its very similar to the other 2.both these boxes set up yer channels like a vermin box.if you can find the catergories section at the top of screen when you press the ok button if its similar you should get a list ie sports, entertainment etc and they should all be in order.i might be wrong but i cant see it being that different.

yes say i choose espn hd, then i want to watch mtv base. i have press fav then press yellow button, then go to category, then music then look for the channel.

this takes way too long compared to eurovox, and i would like to see it change where once in the music category you can press the right button and it will change to another like sports. e.g. like in eurovox this would save so much time.

do you get what i mean

thanks

No its not the north in general,TW areas have known problems, im CW and the EPG is far from perfect but good enough.
If you just want a simple plug + play box without HD or PVR abilities then go for a A750 or eurovox.
Hard drives is still pretty much trial and error all the main brands seem to be fine eg seagate, western digital and maxtor also no need for an external psu as the box powers it.
Its best to get a fast read-write drive for HD content.

Thats a good point ant16151189 i will pass that on and see if they take note!

edit
Ive just checked and it dosnt cycle through by using the <> buttons, but it does say to use them buttons to "fav change".I'll pass this info on in case they havnt already found this.

Thanks ronster

I think Merseyside is a TW area? I'm going for PVR as my current dvd-r doesn't have a digital tuner, so will soon be just a dvd player. I thought rather than buy a new dvd-r & a box I'd get a PVR; the HD is an added bonus.
Let's hop it turns out okay
