Hi guys, newbie here so please be gentle!
Recently bought a Staview 4 USB with the following version:
Model ID - C500
s/w version - 1.07
Boot version - b-11

I have a few questions:

1. I've scanned the channels and picked up all. However, almost everyday, I loose channels and have to manual re-scan each time which is a bit of a pain. Any ideas why this is happening?

2. Each time the box is turned on I loose the EPG and have to re-load (green button in the menu). Is this normal?

3. On the kids channels i.e. Disney, etc I get a crackly picture with sound and many random pixels appearing. I have tried to manual re-scan but doesn't go away. Only happens on these channels. Any ideas please?

4. Am I on the latest version of s/w?

I have a DDigital Plus box upstairs and don't really experience any of the above (although the EPG is rubbish on it).

I know theres a lot of questions but any help would be much appreciated.

try menu,1570, default. then exit to sly spts1

i auto scanned first, turned audio to eng on every movie channel then set default.i found out if you put your box on standby it returned back to the same.maybe i did something wrong and had to do it again

Hiya

Latest version I believe is v1.12 which mine is on but it is still buggy, just one of those things you have to live with for what we get

My sly sp*rts seems to do the same on a regular basis but you just have to go to the channel, hit menu, installation and do the manual install and it should be on the correct freq and find the channel again for you. If it's lots of channels dropping off, just re-scan. Know it seems like a pain but believe me, the STV4 is a lot quicker than the earlier models!!
My epg does this also, EVERY day, and the first time it downloads it always crashes, which results in me having to reboot the box as it freezes and start again, but hey ho, can't complain

With ref to the kids channels, sounds like dodgy signal, just check all your connections, or if you are on a splitter, reconnect to the main feed and re-scan. Hope this all helps.

Thanls Green. If I take it off the splitter and rescan, will it be ok if i re-connect through the splitter again?

the epg is annoying me on this box with firmware 1.07 it use to be ok only went off at midnight now its always off unless i load it

any else having this problem and anyway to sort it
