Hello Teddy,
I have been following your thread with interest. I was wondering what sort of dish you had fitted and did you have to tell the installer where to point etc and how much did it cost to get the dish installed. I already have a cable dreambox 600 but I waqs thinking of replacing my PACE box with something like a 7020 so I would really like to know how much it all came to if you don't mind me asking. Thanks.

Just as a guide, we do Technomate 1500+ or 1600 motorised systems with 88cm dish and usals mount for £350 including standard installation. With a clear line of sight, you can expect to receive from Turksat at 42 East to Panamsat at 45 West

Thanks for your reply lincsat. I am on cable myself but I am looking into this for a friend who cannot get cable in his area. I am total n00b with satellite scene so please excuse me for asking dumb questions. At the moment I am on cable running a DM600 and recieve all the channels that telepest broadcast to the Midlands. My expectations as far as the satellite scene would be concerned would be to recieve no more or less than I what am getting with the cable anything extra is a bonus. I am not really familiar with any of the satellites apart from 'Hotbird and Astra', lot of people mention these two in conjunction with the english language prorammes. You mentioned Turksat is that good or bad in comparison to the hotbird or Astra? Would a standard DM500 with a satellite tuner be sufficient to connect to the set up you have outlined?
