Hi all does anyone remember the satellite that was square but they went bust????
Well we still have it up on the house and was wondering if any receivers could pick anything up with it ???? thanks p.s if I've posted it in the wrong place please move |

Basically its useless - it uses a none standard local oscillator frequency, and circular polarisation.
You can just about get a few channels off them - Ive had very sparkly reception from the ultra high power French analogues on 5W on an old BSB dish before now but whilst it was interesting from an experimental point of view it was hopeless as a viable way of receiving tv channels ![]() Leave it up as a happy reminder of the good old days.

![]() BTW, do you remember the phone company Ionica - they used a squarial as well and went bust even quicker than BSB.

ive still got one in the shed somwhere. i remember there was something about converting them in the wotsat mag years ago but i never got around to trying it
