In addition, the IPTV services are fully managed through Cisco's National Control Center, eliminating the need for service providers to hire staff for head-end management.
"This solution greatly reduces the complexity of and time to market for service provider IPTV deployments," said Dave Davies, vice president and general manager, IPTV Solutions, Cisco.
Avail Media provides managed content aggregation services. It offers a combined MPEG-4 linear IPTV, HD Overlay (MPEG-2/4) programming solution and Video On Demand (VoD) solution with a content lineup of live television programming.

found this on the net cisco have teamed up with avail media, i've no idea what it all means though !
I saw that too matey, it's an interesting read, and on further inspection I found out that Avail Media provide the following services:

Video On Demand »
Linear Solution »
Pay Per View »
Content Services »

I guess they are just like VM, they appear to be a provider from what I can get from their website here:

Code:
http://www.avail-tvn.com/
Seems TheCoder has answered those questions for us - guess we will now just have to wait and see what happens

You may be right....my mind is tired lol....

Probably will be with Nagra but any sensible company would move away from Nagra. The company is on its last legs as far as I can see.

Well, they do appear a little worse for wear I agree, but perhaps this is the deal they need to resurrect the company.

In turn, perhaps it will fund the creation of n4 (doh!) lol

They may of been a little hurt recently but Kudelski are still one of the major players in PayTV encryption technology and, with the aquisition of one of its old competitors, SECA, it may actually now be the biggest. Its certainly bigger than NDS in Europe and possibly the US as well. For cable operators especially, Nagra has always been the preferred option.

its been suggested that the geographics of leeds has made it the starting point....

it more or less borders with telepest and pure

could we maybe 'train' some elite engineers and have these few instal the new kit for testing in all 3 areas?
