Unfortunately, like all the NT based OS series, it has severe limitations when being used for datalogging applications but for day to day stuff, i'd agree, its one of M$ better offerings.

Another good point about Windows 7 is that you can run Windows 98 as a Virtual Machine. That's what I've done after being unable to successfully install Win 98 on any of my old PC's.

I agree on the above. Vmware is very useful in that sense. Also to add that with windows 7 it is capable of running Windows XP programs.
