help needed with dreambox 500-c

Hi i have been on the forum all morning looking at guides on how to flash my 500-c

Im pretty sure i have dloaded all the files and software i need

Software:
FlashFXP
DREAMUP DM500

Files:
LHC2_fta
real_magic<< rar from downloads section



I basically couldnt get connected using Flashfxp using a crossover cable from box to pc i followed the instructions and entered the settings on my network card. it never looked like it was close to connecting when i tried it.

Then i tried using some ethernet cables from pc to router / router to box this way it looking like it was trying to connect but still no luck

the quick connect settings i entered my box;s ip: 192.168.0.24 Username: root Password: dreambox

Having no luck with that i resorted to using an rs232 cable to flash the image it it connected and found the box ok but when i click flash and select the LHC2fta_x2.img file it says download failed.

Any help appreciated guys

lhc is a dbox2 img u need a dreambox img.....look in the dreambox downloads....

I downloaded the DW3 Image for DM500 rar from downloads section now and tried to flash again using DREAMUP but got and error: upload packet failed to send

Do i have press erase 1st?

did u un rar it?

Select yes (“Ja”) when asked if you want to perform a flash-erase during the process

yeah i selected the file from the folder called backup.img

Still no luck i erased the box hoping that this would help when i clicked erase reseting lock bits failed however i continued with the erase anyway hoping that it would enable me 2 flash the box after it but still no luck im still trying to flash using

DREAMUP and the Backup.img from the DW3 Image for DM500 rar

I got a different version DREAMUP and it seams to be flashing the box as i type this.

Box flashed ok iused the Backup.img from the DW3 Image for DM500 rar language apears to be in german but atleast im getting somewhere now

Got the language sorted now

been @ this all day now and not getting much further.

I have managed to flash the box with a few images but not really getting anywhere
I have tried both the DW3 Image for DM500.rar image and DigitalWorldz.v2.1.for.DM500C.rar image cany anyone tell me if there is an image release with the neccesarry magic files included. or at least tell me what is the best image to use
