Looking for advice.
I am replacing the HDD on a Sony VIAO laptop (VGN-NR11M). Is there a way to copy the hidden recovery partition to the new HDD to be able to perform a full system recovery afterwards. Unfortunately there were no recovery cds created prior to the HDD failing. All help would be greatly appreciated. |

If the original hard drive is broken then it's not worth the trouble of taking it apart in the hope of recovering the partition containing the Operating System.
You should have a sticker, on your laptop, with the product key information required, just get hold of a copy, fo the Operating System CD/DVD, load it on the new hard drive, then download the required drivers from the Sony web site. What Operating System was it running? |
