Default over heat

hi i have got a laptop and its doin my head in haha. everytime i put a new version of windows on its always overheating afterwords. it normaly sorts itself out after a few weeks but its doin my head in this time. anyone any ideas. thanks. ps . dont put dont put new windows on lol. thanks
